This month, students from Kingston International Business College
(KIBC) participated in a vibrant Chinese Lunar New Year celebration
held in the lobby of the PwC Tower, where the College is proudly
located. The event, hosted by the PwC Club, was part of a monthly
series designed to highlight both business and cultural
themes—creating a dynamic space for learning, connection, and
inclusion.
This event also formed a direct connection to the Strategic
Management class taught that same week. Students explored how
national culture influences corporate decision-making and
organizational behavior, applying real-world cultural insights to
academic frameworks. The Lunar New Year experience became a living
case study on how cultural understanding enhances leadership and
strategic thinking in global business contexts.
More than just an academic activity, the event reflected KIBC’s
commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. With a student body
representing a wide range of cultural backgrounds—including China,
India, Latin America, and Southeast Asia—KIBC integrates cultural
learning into everyday campus life. Students were encouraged to
reflect on the importance of cultural intelligence, mutual respect,
and inclusive leadership in both professional and personal settings.
By blending education with celebration, the Lunar New Year event at
KIBC highlighted the College’s mission: to prepare students not only
for academic success, but also for responsible, culturally competent
leadership in a diverse global economy.
