KIBC Students Explore Social Impact at “Keys for Cure” Charity Concert

March 2, 2025 | Auckland, New Zealand

Students from Kingston International Business College (KIBC) recently attended the “Keys for Cure” charity concert, held at the PumpHouse Theatre in Takapuna. Organized by Rotary Greenlane in memory of Nikki Kaye, the event raised funds for Mercy Hospice, offering students a meaningful opportunity to observe how community engagement, strategic planning, and values-based leadership intersect to create lasting impact.
More than just a musical performance, the concert became a real-world case study in strategic management, corporate social responsibility (CSR), and event execution. It allowed students to connect academic concepts to real outcomes, deepening their understanding of how business principles operate in service-oriented settings.

Strategic management in action

The event demonstrated how nonprofit and community organizations apply core business strategies to drive mission and momentum:
Students observed how impact-driven strategy builds engagement across sectors, extending business thinking into social good.

Project execution and planning

From a project management perspective, the event offered clear insights into professional event delivery:
These elements combined into a well-executed event that balanced emotion, efficiency, and impact.

Business education rooted in reality

At KIBC, students are encouraged to learn not only from case studies but also from lived experiences that reflect the social and cultural complexity of New Zealand’s business environment. By attending the concert, students were able to observe how strategy, leadership, and purpose can come together to deliver meaningful outcomes for communities.
Experiences like “Keys for Cure” reinforce KIBC’s mission to prepare students to become responsible, reflective business leaders who understand that success is measured not only in financial terms, but also in the ability to serve others and create positive social change.
